59 to 60 part 28

Good morning and welcome to part 28 of this blog, well Monday has not started that well as it is poring of rain and it looks like it is on for the day, it has been a while since we had a day of rain so cant complain it just means i shall try and do a few things around the house. So bit work in house now done so decided to come out and sort a few things in the man cave, this is now done i have sorted my medals out and my TDF Flag and medal stands alone.

Now doesn’t that look better and safer 😂 i decided to put the flag an medal up separately as this to date is my biggest achievement as far as my cycling goes it was a great experience to ride the same roads as the professionals and also my first time in France which i thought was beautiful and one day i hope to go back with Helen as she has been to Paris and visited all the famous sites which i would just love. So that done i decided to do a bit of sanding on a wee table my neighbour gave me and it has turned out not to bad and she also gave me a wee stool for my shed ha ah very nice indeed. We have decided that tonight we shall either go out for a meal or we shall have a chipper tea think were waiting to see what the weather looks like as one minute it is raining heavy and the next minute the sun is out so we shall wait and see. I am off until Wednesday then back for 3 days not sure what to expect in Perth at the moment and must admit to feeling bit lost especially most who i like working with are leaving, i really enjoy my time off spending it with Helen or getting out on bike or the man cave mmm but will have to get some heating in somehow as it will be cold in the winter.

So just a wee photo of some cherrie blossom trees. Well the days and weeks sure do fly in as we come to the end of another month and thoughts turn to Autumn and winter 🥶 you are beginning to feel a difference now as even when the sun is out it does feel a lot cooler so soon be time for the heating to go on dark mornings and early dark evenings or as i say i shall be working from dark o’clock to dark o’clock.

                                                                                28/09/21
Well last day of back for 3days starting tomorrow, not a great day out very windy again and rain on and off, i did start the day well and managed to get part of the man cave painted and if rain goes off will see if can get the rest done, on down side brother messaged me to let me know due to a mix up Dundee United want another £120 for Saturday and it would be me that have to pay as the rest have paid, I’m not really sure what has gone wrong as i thought it had all been paid, so looks like my Saturday is a no go for food football and beer which is a pity as i don't see them much these days. We have been out to shops and are now back home Helen is waiting for a phone call from physiotherapist to see if they can help with her left arm and as i say i will wait to see if rain goes off and decide what i want to do.
I am looking forward to October as we are going to meet Val and Kenny for few days at Balathie house hotel so that should be good not seem them since Covid kicked in and they have gone through quite a bit Val losing both her parents within days of each other. Kenny is a best mate who i met in 2004 when was trekking in Peru i think i have mentioned this already and he is just a great guy and way down to earth but they all are just good good people.

Met a lot of nice people on my travels but me and Kenny have kept in touch and we have been lucky enough to meet his family and watch them grow up, and they have all grown up to be really nice adults. When he told the story of them having triplets one night during the trek i think he had everyone in tears with laughter. We shared a room and on the first night we met I’m sure we finished a bottle of whisky mmmm and that seems to have continued every time we meet, the rest of the people in the photo i unfortunately can’t remember names but they were great company as well. Rain has gone off for awhile so i have managed to finish putting first coat of ronseal on and it is slowly changing colour as you can see.
Will maybe give it another coat over the weekend but happy that first coat is on just hope we don't get a heavy downpour tonight ha ha or it will be back to the usual colour. So yeah not a bad day very productive. So onto tonight and it will be a quiet one as back to work.

                                                                        01/10/21
Hello and welcome October it is 23:35 Friday evening and i just wanted to put in a few lines. Wow how quick these days fly in the tenth month already and already people are talking about Christmas mmm well really since the middle of September people have been talking about it, when i was a growing up I know for a fact if i started talking about Christmas so early mum would have put a stop to it, but I suppose when i was younger i did like to see all the cards and decorations go up but I’m sure it was never this early. Any way three days of work over and now two off was hoping for bike tomorrow but weather not looking great so we shall wait and see.

                                                                        02/10/21
Well what a day had a braw bacon buttie this morning and as it was meant to rain I decided that i would lay the flooring in the man cave and well it is now down and it looks great and was very easy to lay, half way through the rain came and it is still on at the moment but i stuck at it and apart from a bit that is needing done at the door yup i am a happy boy. I have also been given a drinks cabinet from my neighbour so all is taken shape nicely.

I got this from a nurse at work bloody fantastic she has also given me insulation that hopefully I can use on the walls to keep the heating in. So their won’t be much else happening today I was going to have a curry tonight from Bombay jo’s but decided that meat balls would be the way tonight as Helen is in the mood for this tonight and it is good to see this as she struggles with her appetite so when she’s in the mood for something then I’m happy to go for it so looks like curry next week.

                                                                        03/10/2021
Well Sunday is here again and although weather wise it was an ok day no rain it is very windy, i was up and in the garden sorting a few things out and then it was off to buy a jug saw for cutting the rest of the floor for the man cave, but first it was the usual Sunday shopping for weeks messages and then a coffee, i thought i would try a hat on.
I think green hair suits me 😂. So not much else to say about today as not much else has gone on, i did have a nice night yesterday which included a couple of beers and couple of drams while i watched a bit TV mainly football and yes Dundee United did record another victory whoop whoop.

The boys from yesterday’s hospitality at Tannadice with united legends John Clark, Hamish McAlpine, and David Dodds cup winners and league winners and beat most top sides in Europe Big Clarky scoring goal against Barcelona in the Nou Camp stadium, they have never beaten  United in Europe a record any team should be proud of. So back to work tomorrow for next two days then of Wednesday back Thursday and of until the following Monday which will be good i may even have a curry that wknd mmm yummy. But until then take care all and until next week BYEEEEE
