59 to 60 part 7

 .

Welcome to part 7 and as you can see by this photo i used to be a big Star Trek fan 😂 long time ago, on we go and today i am in garden as still bit sore but may be out on bike tonight. I want to clear a bit of my garden to see if there is a way to get a garden shed or as i call it my man shed oh aye might even have a bar in it depending what i can get so that will be my start to this day. Well it started with a fantastic bacon roll 🥓 man that was a great way to start a day. So onto the garden and to clear a big bit where i am hoping to put a shed, it took a while as there was a lot of stuff to move and to bag and take to tip but did manage well and also with the help of a fire 🔥
As you can see from the photo two bags full and lot of loose stuff to go in car for tip, wash glad to get this done as back of the garage has been a bit of a mess for a while now and every year i keep saying this will be the year to clear this mmm well this was the year, have still bit to do but hoping to get boy (Dave’s Sheds) to come down and have a look to see if he would manage to fit a shed in this space went to see him today but he had already closed so call tomorrow

Have spoken to Dave before and his sheds look great and there made to spec so would be good if can get him down soon. Visit to Arbroath today but not before we went to see the hairy coos and there calf’s so we decided to stop and have a cuppa beside them and they were right across but unfortunately there was a sign saying not to feed them but did manage few photos.

                                                               Coos and the calf’s

We then headed to Arbroath to do wee bit of shopping and then go to Helens mums grave to make sure it was tidy and everything there was ok which it was. Decided to drive back through the country as it was such a nice and sunny day, we had bought our neighbour flowers and card and some sweets as she starts her new job tomorrow and we stood for a while and chatted, a real nice couple Dale and Nikita, she has come over from Canada 🇨🇦 to stay which can’t be easy at times as she has left her family and friends but sh seems to have settled here and as i say there a really nice couple and always willing to stand and chat. So back home and that’s Monday done just bit of tv now i am hoping to get few miles on bike tomorrow if weather holds out it be good to get another 30 to 35miles mmm we shall see.

                                                                        20/04/21
Well today did start good but was a bit colder managed to get a 26mile cycle in today but i am noticing that after 25-20miles my arm becomes really sore but on the up side doctor is phoning Thursday with results of X-ray and hopefully next step to getting this sorted. Cycle today was an old favourite up carrot hill and back by Inverarity head towards Wellbank turning off to Monikie and back home via Drumsturdy road, some good views from top of the carrot.

Was low cloud but Clova mountains still in view, never stopped long here as rain had come on during climb up and did look like it would come on heavy but thankfully it did not so no soggy arse today. Is nice around these parts i cycled today and as i left bit earlier the roads were fairly quiet. There was a wind but did not seem to hamper me in any way. Had a wee rest on way back and managed a few photos.

Soon as the two pigs saw me that are in this photo they were right across snorting away. So was not a bad start. The rain did come on this afternoon so was not much else to do apart from yup you guessed it shopping, but good news our First Minister has given the green light for more to open from this Friday bars and restaurants but with time limits which is fine as we can now see a light at the end of the tunnel and leats hope nothing goes wrong. So that’s it for today all in all not to bad given the current situation lets see what tomorrow brings.

                                                                             21/4/21
Well not to bad a day sunny was out but still bit cold. Started day off with another small cycle run 15miles as had couple of other things on today. Not very exciting but was good to get the miles in and unfortunately arm was still sore. Some nice photos though.

Never took to long but did feel a bit slower today at one stage going uphill not particularly big climb i started blowing a fair bit mm but in saying that i did swallow a fly that came straight back out again. I did enjoy but hoping this was a one off. Having done my exercise it was time for a wee jaunt to look at some man sheds through near St Madoes, saw a few i liked at not bad prices but one in particular a potting shed but hey who says you need to pot in a potting shed 😂 it was bloody great but someone had put there name on it and was going to make his mind up by 5pm today and if the guy had not heard anything by then it would be mine..... man came in while we were there and decided he was going to take it blood great just missed out on a really good shed for a good price but no meant for me. So back to looking see what turns up. Had cuppa while up there and some braw views and trees had flowered as well.

So not a bad day really something we bit different even managed to buy some plants to put in pots for summer. Back home now getting ready to listen to my team on the radio hoping they can get a win tonight against Killie but another shite plastic pitch 🤞. So back to work for next 3 days so next bit of this blog will probably be Sunday.

                                                                                  25/04/21
Well good morning and as i finished the last bit of this blog we got humped 3-0 from killie and it is now on to today and live tv match DUFC V SHEEP Scottish cup and I don’t know what to expect we shall just have to wait and see. Good week and last 3 days work has been fine was moved to Perth Renal for couple of days due to staff shortages then last shift back in Ninewells. I have heard back from my doctor as well and they think i have repetitive strain in my arm and i know have to get a steroid jab to sort this which i am hoping is sooner rather than later as my arm is sore and i just want it sorted so i can get more miles a in on bike and lift some weights and just get back to doing all the things i enjoy. I have decided to force myself to stay of bike for couple of days in the hope i get this appointment this week so today i shall be in the garden just tidying things up then it will be the game and may even have a walk at some point.
                                                               Sunset Dundee Rigs

Last night was quiet night had couple of beers and watched a bit of Telly but did feel bit weary and bit sore as i decided not to take any painkillers after 1300hrs and may try again today just to give my body a break. So out i go and see what happens today.
Back in from garden ready for the match, green house back up plants potted and bit of a tidy up so all good mmm for the minute it is now in United’s hands how the rest of this day goes, truthfully though yes i want to see them go further in the cup nut if it does not happen today then it will be time to build for next season so no matter what happens we can push on hopefully.  Helen now out putting food out for the birds 🦅 then she is off out as she does not want to see the game and i have to say I can’t blame her as we are not the easiest team to watch 😂.
Well as it sits at half time we are 2-0 up but really we should be at least 4 really have played the dons of the park i feel it could be a long second half. Woohoo final score 3-0 to the Tangerines a great performance from every player today and i know feel a wee beer should be had..

So couple beers in garden and may have a wee dram tonight as well to celebrate a good game and my team going back to Hampden park for semi final fair to say been a good Sunday for not leaving house/garden.

And now onto to tea a nice chilli and garlic bread, as things start to open again tomorrow we hope to get away soon for few days which hopefully will improve my blog. So ends this part and onto part 8.

59 to 60 part 6

Welcome to part 6 it is 12/04/21 and i am off until Thursday so hope to be able to get a 100 mile cycle in before i go back, i used to be able to get 100 in a day but with my arm being so sore and maybe not as fit as I used to be that would be a struggle at the moment. So looks cold out but does look nice an sunny with bit of a breeze, the days seem to be starting like this at the moment nice sunny ☀️ then by afternoon we have some snow showers so am hoping to avoid this.

Well what a cracking day on the bike and then few things done this afternoon. Bike run took me to 31miles and was a fab run sunshine all the way light breeze and still bit cold, headed to sidlaws a run that I do often as i know it takes in some great views.

Some good climbs and some nice country roads which are in not to bad state but you still have to be aware  for potholes. It was great to get out early and not much traffic once i got onto the country roads and todays bike of choice was the Ribble which I’m beginning to think out of all my bikes this may be the fastest at the moment but yeah an enjoyable cycle.

Rest of the day was spent doing some messages and having mmm yes a nice costa coffee was at Hospital with Helen to pick up some tablets then to put flowers at Helens dads grave which she has taken care of since he passed away which is a great tribute to him. Then Tesco for some shopping and picked up coffee we then sat at Riverside Drive which although was bit busy was nice in the sun.

So that was it for today and hopefully if weather holds out it will be another 30 to 35miles on bike again to start the day.

                                                                            13/04/21
Well the start of another day and this cycle will take me straight up to Arbroath and come back by Arbirlot another 30 miles which will be cool but i may struggle to get 100 in 3 days but will do what i can but hoping to hit 100miles this week, so it was up quick breakfast now a stretch then on my travels again.
So another 30 miles done and another good day in the saddle although pretty much straight forward 🚲 up to Arbroath and onto Arbirlot and back to Dundee again some nice roads and the Arbirlot road is nice and quiet and offers you some nice views of the North Sea and is one of the places I normally stop for a wee break.

Lot of wee climbs on this run as well which i enjoy as more height you gain better the views get so that 61 miles done in two days and i hope to get at least 20 in tomorrow but i do have a few things to do but should manage even a wee circuit, todays bike of choice was the Bianchi and was as smooth as ever.

Back home to cut the grass and we decided to go out for another coffee and sit in the sun, after this we had a drive back up to that old building i wrote about in blog 5 and It looks like it comes under Duntrune but we also discovered that part of this building was built in 1664 the stables and got to say they still look in not bad condition. Loving this old building if had the money would love to buy it before someone either knocks it down or it just fall down.

So happier news today as lockdown restrictions are to ease a bit more on Friday and we will be able to go on away days now and travel around Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 and although we can’t stay away as yet it is a start and hopefully be able to get to a mountain or me and Helen can get away to do some low level walks, it is just good news and i hope everyone follows the rules and we don’t have a 3rd lockdown as that would be a real disaster.

                                                                            14/04/21
Well up bit later today did feel bit sore sp may wait until later to get out on bike will see how i feel, at moment just finishing breakfast of a nice black pudding roll mmm was braw and a good breakfast for my last day off as back to work on Thursday for next three days which is fine as it has been a while since i worked a Saturday or a weekend. Felt bit weary but i suppose i did come home yesterday and cut the grass as well so think my body is telling me to calm down a bit. I have few things to do today but as usual be a quiet one as it will be just bit of shopping looking for storage bags for wardrobe mmm again i say rocknroll life style at moment. It is a beautiful day sun ☀️ is out and it seem very still so things may change.
One of these blogs soon will be about my time in mountains well may add stories about mountains in several of them but at first will have to get some photos together, it has been difficult to do blogs during lockdown as really were stuck here mm well until Friday then hoping to make these bit more interesting. There are already blogs here one about my time in Nepal and trek to Everest base camp it is maybe not best blog as i was not use to blogging and i wish i did it while i was over in Nepal day by day account but if anyone ever reads this please have a look as the pictures are in my humble opinion good to look at as well.
Onto this afternoon and if there was a day to be outside it was today although there is now a slight breeze which still has a bit of a chill to it but probably best day of the week, we had wee trip to the range to see if can get some storage boxes to help me clean and male some space in Sparta room as it is now where i sit to do blog and look out to the garden which is relaxing and there are times it is just what i need, it is also a room where the vinyl is, i look around this room and find it hard to believe we used too have a double bed in here and trying to clear tit has been a job and a half i have already got rid of a few things and still it is full but hopefully during summer I can’t make some difference. So back home and my last day off and i hope to have a little glass of cold wine but will see how Helen feels as she has had a bit of an off day but is resting, feel for her she has days where she just feels off and looses her appetite amongst other things all due to her treatment and i should really have bit more patience well i do but sometimes i forget and it is not right as i know it is something she can’t control.
So that’s it until Sunday unless i have time or something exciting happens 😂 mmm well you never know.
                                                                              18/04/21
Good morning day off today after my three 12hr shifts two of which i have to say was not at my best as not feeling great, i woke up around 3am on Friday having a coughing fit then early Saturday woke around same time but no coughing, both day i struggled to get back to sleep and then work where although shifts were fine there were times i could have sat down and just fell asleep 😴. This morning i just feel bit weary so Helen is making me breakfast in bed and i will just have to see what the day brings but it may have to be a relaxing day to see if can kick start myself. Been great few days weather wise but today looks a bit hazy so i may have a walk somewhere.but first i have a bit of clearing up to do in my wee room.
Well another day of not doing much cleared more of the room but still lots to do but at least i can see me getting there. Was out for while and went to look at seeing about getting a man shed but unfortunately they were closed so may do this tomorrow. Now back home and tonight i am going to enjoy a nice glass of dark red wine and watch bit of tv. As i have already put on a blog before this about the old building i went to and took some photos.
                                                                            The steadings
Finally a name they are called the steddings of Duntrune the plots are up for sale at a 250.000 pound but also this building belongs to historic Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 mmmm which can affect anyone who buys a plot as i know they could have problems with how they want to renovate these as i know or have seen programs with people who have bought an old house or building and have had to do things that they probably did not want to, the only thing i will say is that if historic Scotland own this it will not be knocked down.
