59 to 60 Part 4

                                                                            29/03/21

Welcome to part 4 and i would like to start by saying that after news of John passing away i have realised that we must try to enjoy every moment of life as we don’t know when or what something like this may happen, i have 7 days left off and i sit here thinking what can i do today? Can’t cycle as it is blowing a hoolie and my tennis elbow is very sore today so i think a walk and some fresh air. Was on beach yesterday and though it was not the best of days it was still busy and someone had done a little bit of sculpting.

Was very cool and brought a smile to my face. Lots of people going over to take photos who ever done this well done.

So onto today lets see what it brings. And it brought a walk but nothing to exciting mmm again wind was so strong blew my baseball cap off and thought i lost it as it flew quite far but guy saw it and gave me it back 😂 well yeah that was the excitement for today.

Photo of the rigs in the harbour and that’s about it really quick trip to Asda then back home as there still pretty much nothing to do and arm still sore so no bike today.

                                                                        30/03/21

Good morning well hospital with Helen for her treatment at 13-00 then couple walks for me, my arm is still sore so may wait until tomorrow to go for a cycle as i am hoping to get over 100miles this week but i know weather may have a bearing on this but fingers crossed. Weather is not to bad but still very windy and buy all accounts it could be a white Easter 🐣 you got to love Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿.

Well change of plan as Helen’s appointment has been cancelled so looks like another day of walks around the ferry area.

So there was not much else to do today. It is awful that day after day we struggle for something to do but hoping after Friday when things ease a bit more and some shops open we can do bit more even if ot is just a garden centre and if weather improves we can at least get out into the garden. So anyway was thinking about couple of hills to do soon and memory popped up of Glenshee lots to do up there even though i have done them all it may be a good way to get back into the hills.

As you can see from the photos if you get the right day it can be stunning there, i like Glenshee great in summer but has some great winter walks there as well and you can spend as much time doing these even the easier ones.

Ive often thought of taking my bike up with tent for couple of days then doing a climb one day then next day going for a long cycle before heading home mmm i hope i can do it this summer as lockdown eases.

                                                                          31/03/21

Well today i woke to a nice calm day so my first thought was to have a quick breakfast and then out on bike, my arm was bit sore but thought yeah lets do this, so breakfast done and off i went, all i can say is five miles in and wind started blowing and the rain came on as well the wind was that strong it was blowing me all over the place and the rain well it felt more like hail.

.

.

As you can see from the photos cloud came over very quick and was not long after this that the rain hint as well. So had to cut short again and rather head for sidlaws i headed down to Tealing instead basically knocking 15miles of my day but was the right decision as the wind really got stronger and even now at 16-10 it is still blowing a real hoolie. I don’t mind cycling in the rain but there is not much enjoyment when wind is that’s strong mmm unless it a tail wind of course, but still 22miles so not to bad I suppose.

So was back home and once again very little to do was quick visit to shops then coffee from costa tomorrow is our anniversary and it is just a shame that we have no real place to go as generally we would be away or we would definitely be eating out but we shall see what the day brings. 👍

01/04/21

                                                                HAPPY ANNIVERSARY

Today is of course as you can see our Anniversary 32 years married and we woke up thinking how do we spend today with there being not much to do with everything still closed. So we decided on a walk and to go to Balgavies which is a nice walk and has ospreys there as well. So after my cycle we set out and it was a really nice sunny day still cold a bit but in bits was warm and what a great walk this was the ospreys were there and lots of geese and big highland coos as well.

Ospreys in first two photos, this is a lovely place to walk especially on a nice sunny day you don’t need to be into seeing birds but just for walk and take a flask or a dram and you can sit and chill for a while, the good thing is today there were not lots of people there so was quiet and like i say plenty to see. Even the flies as you can see from the second photo below.

So all in all at last a different kind of day and was a good way to spend our anniversary it is just a pity we can’t go out and celebrate it with a nice meal and few drinks. So tonight it will be a nice meal in the house with couple glasses of fizz.

So 32 years but we have been together for 35 and i think this might be one of the first we celebrate in the House as like i have said we normally go away some place nice for couple of nights Pitlochry being one of our favourite places as they have a great restaurant up there called Fern Cottage and we have been several times and it has always been really nice food especially the venison mmm bloody great and the steaks 🥩 mmmm making myself hungry here. Well to finish this bit all i can say is we especially Helen have gone through quite a bit but we fight on and well yeah we may have off days but not many and we always sort things out as that’s what you do when you love someone yeah. ❤️

So i started the day with a quick 21miles on the bike was better day as wind had dropped and hoping it stays this way as hoping for bigger cycle on Saturday, but Easter Sunday does not sound good seemingly the return of snow and cold winds boooo it is time for summer now please. Last set of photos from todays cycle and it does look like there is a submarine in the docks.

                                                                             2\03/21

Well after yesterday i have not much to put on today, was up bit later and bit breakfast then out to do bit of the garden which was about most excitement for today, pity as it is the kind of day where i may have headed to pub for couple of jars as sun is out. So that’s about it for today on to tomorrow and hopefully a good few miles on bike.

                                                                          03/04/21
Well today went as planned a great breakfast of black pudding roll and big cuppa, then it was bike 🚴 gear on and time to head out and do 40miles and i thought i would do this in memory of John who this time last week we lost so at 1200 i stopped and had a minute silence in his memory and i know other guys were out today to do the same thing.

And what a beautiful day it turned out to be although still bit cold the sun shone down on me all through this 🚲 it was first time on some of these roads but it was great to be away out in the country mm well until you were near water the flies were in there thousands so it was definitely head down and mouth shut. I headed up to Balgavies today which took me close to Forfar and some of the scenery was just stunning and you can still see some snow on the Clova mountains simply beautiful.

It was just a perfect cycling 🚴‍♂️ day and although i did struggle a bit on the second part I really enjoyed managing to get 40 miles in on some roads i have not been on before and was also great to see so many other cyclists out as well. I had a wee break beside a house that me and Helen found one day while out driving it is near Redford and i would love to have the money to buy it ( if i win the lottery) it looks out to countryside and stands on its own but just would look great all done up to what you want.

Well maybe one day i long for being away from crowds at times and still not far from a big town like Dundee mmm well one can dream. It was the Bianchi bike today and as always was cool 😎 just the person on it not so much. When i got home Helen was on her way out bit upset as she dropped her phone and smashed the screen but it can be sorted. I decided to buy a ticket to watch my team Dundee United play in the Scottish cup and to end a not bad day they won 2-1 so i think a few glasses of wine tonight. So to finish i say once again enjoy life take every day as it comes and todays news will be tomorrow’s chip paper. Tomorrow is looking not so good hard to believe after today there talking snow wind and rain for Easter bloody great but we shall still go and roll our eggs 🥚

                                                                         04/04/21

Well good morning and happy Easter, change outside today very windy and still colder so we are going to go to Baxter Park and roll our eggs mmm yes we still do this and why not. I was given three lovely eggs by Helen and i gave Helen three eggs and packet os sweets.

The bottle of red wine had already been drunk 😂 🥴 Dark red 16 crimes was lovely and rich and i may have to replace it with a couple more. I wonder why i always struggle to keep my weight down? So onto to today and i think it will be a quiet one ha ha again but i am back at work tomorrow but only two days this week which i can get use to and will have to have a sit down and a good looks t what i can do about either retirement or cutting some hours i do enjoy my work but enjoy my time off and hopefully after lockdown well i can have a look and see what can be done.
So not much else to say today as not done much else once again was shopping then cup of tea with Easter cake and then back home. Not a bad week off pity it ended up so windy and colder for last day but hey ho that’s life as they say.
