59 to 60 part 6

Welcome to part 6 it is 12/04/21 and i am off until Thursday so hope to be able to get a 100 mile cycle in before i go back, i used to be able to get 100 in a day but with my arm being so sore and maybe not as fit as I used to be that would be a struggle at the moment. So looks cold out but does look nice an sunny with bit of a breeze, the days seem to be starting like this at the moment nice sunny ☀️ then by afternoon we have some snow showers so am hoping to avoid this.

Well what a cracking day on the bike and then few things done this afternoon. Bike run took me to 31miles and was a fab run sunshine all the way light breeze and still bit cold, headed to sidlaws a run that I do often as i know it takes in some great views.

Some good climbs and some nice country roads which are in not to bad state but you still have to be aware  for potholes. It was great to get out early and not much traffic once i got onto the country roads and todays bike of choice was the Ribble which I’m beginning to think out of all my bikes this may be the fastest at the moment but yeah an enjoyable cycle.

Rest of the day was spent doing some messages and having mmm yes a nice costa coffee was at Hospital with Helen to pick up some tablets then to put flowers at Helens dads grave which she has taken care of since he passed away which is a great tribute to him. Then Tesco for some shopping and picked up coffee we then sat at Riverside Drive which although was bit busy was nice in the sun.

So that was it for today and hopefully if weather holds out it will be another 30 to 35miles on bike again to start the day.

                                                                            13/04/21
Well the start of another day and this cycle will take me straight up to Arbroath and come back by Arbirlot another 30 miles which will be cool but i may struggle to get 100 in 3 days but will do what i can but hoping to hit 100miles this week, so it was up quick breakfast now a stretch then on my travels again.
So another 30 miles done and another good day in the saddle although pretty much straight forward 🚲 up to Arbroath and onto Arbirlot and back to Dundee again some nice roads and the Arbirlot road is nice and quiet and offers you some nice views of the North Sea and is one of the places I normally stop for a wee break.

Lot of wee climbs on this run as well which i enjoy as more height you gain better the views get so that 61 miles done in two days and i hope to get at least 20 in tomorrow but i do have a few things to do but should manage even a wee circuit, todays bike of choice was the Bianchi and was as smooth as ever.

Back home to cut the grass and we decided to go out for another coffee and sit in the sun, after this we had a drive back up to that old building i wrote about in blog 5 and It looks like it comes under Duntrune but we also discovered that part of this building was built in 1664 the stables and got to say they still look in not bad condition. Loving this old building if had the money would love to buy it before someone either knocks it down or it just fall down.

So happier news today as lockdown restrictions are to ease a bit more on Friday and we will be able to go on away days now and travel around Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 and although we can’t stay away as yet it is a start and hopefully be able to get to a mountain or me and Helen can get away to do some low level walks, it is just good news and i hope everyone follows the rules and we don’t have a 3rd lockdown as that would be a real disaster.

                                                                            14/04/21
Well up bit later today did feel bit sore sp may wait until later to get out on bike will see how i feel, at moment just finishing breakfast of a nice black pudding roll mmm was braw and a good breakfast for my last day off as back to work on Thursday for next three days which is fine as it has been a while since i worked a Saturday or a weekend. Felt bit weary but i suppose i did come home yesterday and cut the grass as well so think my body is telling me to calm down a bit. I have few things to do today but as usual be a quiet one as it will be just bit of shopping looking for storage bags for wardrobe mmm again i say rocknroll life style at moment. It is a beautiful day sun ☀️ is out and it seem very still so things may change.
One of these blogs soon will be about my time in mountains well may add stories about mountains in several of them but at first will have to get some photos together, it has been difficult to do blogs during lockdown as really were stuck here mm well until Friday then hoping to make these bit more interesting. There are already blogs here one about my time in Nepal and trek to Everest base camp it is maybe not best blog as i was not use to blogging and i wish i did it while i was over in Nepal day by day account but if anyone ever reads this please have a look as the pictures are in my humble opinion good to look at as well.
Onto this afternoon and if there was a day to be outside it was today although there is now a slight breeze which still has a bit of a chill to it but probably best day of the week, we had wee trip to the range to see if can get some storage boxes to help me clean and male some space in Sparta room as it is now where i sit to do blog and look out to the garden which is relaxing and there are times it is just what i need, it is also a room where the vinyl is, i look around this room and find it hard to believe we used too have a double bed in here and trying to clear tit has been a job and a half i have already got rid of a few things and still it is full but hopefully during summer I can’t make some difference. So back home and my last day off and i hope to have a little glass of cold wine but will see how Helen feels as she has had a bit of an off day but is resting, feel for her she has days where she just feels off and looses her appetite amongst other things all due to her treatment and i should really have bit more patience well i do but sometimes i forget and it is not right as i know it is something she can’t control.
So that’s it until Sunday unless i have time or something exciting happens 😂 mmm well you never know.
                                                                              18/04/21
Good morning day off today after my three 12hr shifts two of which i have to say was not at my best as not feeling great, i woke up around 3am on Friday having a coughing fit then early Saturday woke around same time but no coughing, both day i struggled to get back to sleep and then work where although shifts were fine there were times i could have sat down and just fell asleep 😴. This morning i just feel bit weary so Helen is making me breakfast in bed and i will just have to see what the day brings but it may have to be a relaxing day to see if can kick start myself. Been great few days weather wise but today looks a bit hazy so i may have a walk somewhere.but first i have a bit of clearing up to do in my wee room.
Well another day of not doing much cleared more of the room but still lots to do but at least i can see me getting there. Was out for while and went to look at seeing about getting a man shed but unfortunately they were closed so may do this tomorrow. Now back home and tonight i am going to enjoy a nice glass of dark red wine and watch bit of tv. As i have already put on a blog before this about the old building i went to and took some photos.
                                                                            The steadings
Finally a name they are called the steddings of Duntrune the plots are up for sale at a 250.000 pound but also this building belongs to historic Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 mmmm which can affect anyone who buys a plot as i know they could have problems with how they want to renovate these as i know or have seen programs with people who have bought an old house or building and have had to do things that they probably did not want to, the only thing i will say is that if historic Scotland own this it will not be knocked down.
