59 TO 60 Part 32

Happy Halloween 

Well how to start if you read this part of my blog then i can only apologise as i have some how managed to delete this weeks and not exactly sure how i managed it so i shall try to do my best and put as much into this one as i can. In a week where it has not stopped raining well apart from a while yesterday i have been busy at work so their was not much to really say during that period, Monday and Tuesday were spent recovering from the weekend away with Kenny and Val their has been no tome for my bike mm well the weather has been horrid i should say so i tried to do a few things around the house and some stretches. Work itself went as well as could be expected was very busy so time passed quickly. On Friday Helen carved her 🎃 and what a great job she made of it.

She is very good at doing this and always gets cool remarks if we get guisiers at the door and if i post it social media sites but tonight if this rain stays on i cant see us getting many people to the door which is a shame for the kids as they have had it hard for the last couple of years. I am currrently in the man cave painting my wee table a nice bright Tangerine and i have also bought safety lights for outside but unfortunately i don't think they will be going up today. But i have had a lot to do around the house this morning. I was out last night threw in Perth for a leaving doo for three people and i have to say i shall miss them very much as they have been a great help to me and also they are great to work with, i took the train through and was meant to get one back at 10-50 but i have a wee story about that, but was a good night.

 The top photo is me on my way and the next is of Laura and Shona, Laura is moving back home to Stornaway and i have ti say out of them all i shall miss her the most as she has always been their to talk to and if i ever needed time of for Helen Laura would do her best to get me the time off  and also to work with you could not get a better nurse and we shall all miss her.

Karen at the front is leaving as well we have a joke in work that she is my work wife ha ha, another person who we and i shall miss as she liked a laugh and also as a worker she was great but she is off to help with the battle against Covid 19 and hopefully she will come back and see us. Kyile in the blue is away as well going back to Glasgow to work, i have not worked with him much but a nice lad and easy to get on with and i hope it goes well for him and of course them all. So i am off now for ten days and when i go back it is to Ninewells but i am not even going to think about this tomorrow Helen has hospital appointment at 2 so i am hoping the weather is better and i can hook bike on back of the car and get some or lots of miles this week. Oh the story of getting a train home mmm well bit of a disaster as i forgot and it wasn’t until someone mentioned the time that i discovered that i had missed the train what a fekin muppet, so i had to get a Taxi home at the cost of £55 what a belter eah.

After last week with Ken and Val i had photographs which i will post again it was of our last night and we were out for a meal again at the Strathord this was another thing that was deleted by mistake from the blog

Already missing these guys but may be a chance i will meet up with Kenny for a climb or a walk. I was sitting here listening to some quiet music in the man cave when their was a might crash as the drawer in the cabinet i have collapsed ha ha near bloody pooped myself, i have done a quick repair to it in the hope that it wont need much more maybe had a bit to much wait in it bloody fool 😂 right i am in the mood of a cuppa anyone want to join me?

Well cuppa done and house put back together after a good clean i am now back in the man cave with the small lights on listening to a bit of music and the rain is still on quite relaxing hearing it hit the roof. I am definitely going to need another 40winks as i feel last nights sleep was a drunken sleep and I’m beginning to feel myself wind down ha ha god I remember the days after a night out when on the Sunday i would be outside the galleon bar waiting for it to open so i can have a Sunday afternoon session Christ now after a night out it takes couple of days to recover, bloody lightweight these days so i am mmm or just getting older i suppose, talking to boy called Jo last night and he remembers all the old bars and discos in Dundee from the 70s and 80s some classic bars ha ha i remember on called the oriental bar man that was crazy but a great bar you would open the door to the smell of smoke mmm or weed bloody place had gorillas hanging of the roof but it also had one of the best jukebox in Dundee and it was always full and loud bloody great. So onto the rest of today and really their is not much else to do apart from have a shower then tea and relax watching a bit of TV. 

So once again I apologise for a rather small blog this week but if you do read this then again thank you so much for taking the to time to read, i often wonder if anyone has actually seen this but no matter i have enjoyed or am enjoying doing this and it keeps me on my toes as well. So until next week have a sppoktacular  Halloween and watch out for low flying witches.

59 to 60 part 31

Hello and welcome to part 31 of this blog, i thought i would just add wee bit to start as i am working 4 days in a row so will find it hard this week it add to the blog until Friday but i shall try. Today at work was a bit wearying as their is a lot going on and it is not nice it is been going on to long and the powered that be need to get it sorted and unfortunately that is all i can really say. Helen has decided she needs a night in her bed as she has been feeling a bit sick today so she took a tablet and went back to her kip and hopefully this will help her a bit well a good bit. So tonight i am just watching tv for while but will be an early night.    The photo above is on Prince Edward Island I’ve kept saying i will put up some stuff about me being away and hopefully that will happen soon.

Their is a blog i think i have said on my trip to Everest it is not the best blog but their is plenty of great photos of the trek. But i never did one about my trip to Peru so this will be a perfect opportunity mmm well what i can remember of it. But for now i will stop here as i just wanted to get it started.

Well another mixed up day at work, in Perth most of the day then back of 1 told I was needed in Dundee which all I can say was nonsense as when I got there I was tripping over staff and basically I did very little as their was that many. Enough about that though as I am now back home showered yea has been done and I am now sitting trying to stay awake. Have to say though this week I’ve been a bit fed up especially with work and can’t wait for the wknd and away for three days, no wonder I feel bad he days fly in as every day at work all I say is let’s get this day over with. Really I wish I was in the mountains or on bike in the country or just out for drive with Helen with no thoughts about work.

Hello and after what’s been another poor day at work yesterday I have woken up today feeling bit weary and a bit blah but today at work has started well so hopefully it will continue well it’s my last day and am so looking forward to getting away. Last nights drive home was nice though as it was a full moon and managed to capture it with my iPhone amazing camera really. 

And even the drive into Perth this morning the moon 🌝 was still high and full, it was cold and just a great autumn morning and if I was off I most definitely be out most of the day walking and cycling. So break over now back into the unit. Day going well now on lunch break and will be back to the unit soon, spoke to Helen she is going to get steroids for few days to see if it gives her a wee boost for our wknd away here is hoping it does as she needs a break from all that’s going on. Me I just need a good nights sleep 😴 

This afternoon not been the best been busy but seems to be settling now and about to have an afternoon cuppa and am hoping that is it settled down until patients start coming off, also looking forward to the moment someone tells me I can go home and then a good few days off. 

This is the hermitage near Dunkeld amazing place especially this day few years ago when it was so cold the waterfall froze it was stunning and one of the reasons I love winter 🥶 I love getting up in the morning especially if it still dark and looking out the window seeing frost and it sparkling or even the snow when you get that blue kind of light in a dark room, getting out and just walking and everything is quiet even better if the snow is still falling.

Well hello Friday, I have had breakfast and packed stuff  for our weekend away and as we’re not leaving until the back of 1 I decided to go out and finish cementing slabs and few other repairs, all that needs done now is the weeding cover cut back and that will be it hopefully once I get lights then it should look good.

So time to lock everything up and that will be it until we’re back on Monday, so glad I am off until Wednesday though as it’s been full on at work but I’m sure the days will fly in can’t believe we’re near end of October but as I say it is what it is buckle down and enjoy life. 

So we have arrived at out hotel ans our room is great with some fantastic views, i have not been able to go out for a walk as yet as we arrived a bit late and i had to go and nip into  to Stanley and get a few supplies as the restaurant is fully booked for tonight and it looks like Kenny and Valero are going to get here a bit later and I think they will just want to chill tonight. I dis manage a couple of pictures one is the view from our room and the other is of some supplies.

Ha ha yes i also bought food, the place just what is needed we have a river to look at and it is surrounded by trees which are beginning to turn a lovely colour as you can see from the next two photos, oh and we have also seen some deer.

Hopefully as this weekends blog goes on i will have more photos to post once i get out walking and even if lucky a nice sunset as well but yes as i say a much needed break with two of the best people in the world and i really cant wait to see them. I have found the last few weeks at work very hard every day seems busier and it goes in so quick, i am glad we are here especially for Helen who just needs time away to relax and forget about hospitals so i am going top do my best not to mention work this weekend.

Saturday has been a fine day here as we headed out after a good breakfast, our first mission was to find a place to eat as the hotels menu was £55 for five courses and their was no other option which i find a bit weird for a hotel so we cancelled our table and after a bit of a search we are going to the strath in Stanley which although looks bit rough on the outside it is really nice inside and gets good reviews. We headed. To Perth for a while as Val had never been before couple of new shops opened there but still lot of unused plots, but before this me a ken had a walk around the gardens which was nice.

So all  in all not to bad a day had a small bite to eat at Hinterland in Perth which was nice and then just a walk round before we headed back to the hotel and a wee chill before we head out tonight for a bite to eat and maybe a few beers as well, great being out with Val and Ken again and we are basically here to chill our socks off.

                                    24/10/21

Well what a start to the day poor Val was stuck in bed as her back had gone so it was myself Helen and Keny for breakfast but the staff in the hotel made up a breakfast for Ken to take up to Val which was very good of them. Yesterday’s meal at the strath was excellent so good we are going back tonight, the hotels menu is a set 5 course meal at the cost of £55 you get no choice but to have this which to me is a bit strange and they must lose a lot of custom I mean we’re here 3 nights so that would be £55 a night each and yet our meal yesterday cost us the four of us £60 including drinks as well, the guy who owns the bar told us he gets a lot of their customers as they feel it is to much. Anyway I am out for a walk and just made it back and under a canopy before the heavens opened and it was torrential for about ten minutes and now the sun is out man I love Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿. Good walk but surprisingly not much wildlife.

The first picture is of geese flying probably to warmer climes, now may have another ten twenty minute walk as back is a bit sore with beds being soft. 

Yes another old building found on the path to Stanley which became waterlogged about a mile in. It is nearly 1400hrs and Val is still asleep so we are going to go and see if we can find a place to have a coffee and cake mmm this could be interesting, we drove yesterday and never saw much on the road down but well we have tine so lets try.

So just back from coffee and cake and me and Kenny headed out for another walk and managed to get some more good photos, it is a strange place as we were expecting to see lots of wildlife but we hardly saw any and at one point commented on the fact that you could not here any birds chirping it was just quiet, but it was good wee walk just under 3miles and as always with Kenny some great banter I’ve always wished I stayed closer to them sop we could all see each other more. 

So we are off to the same place tonight for a bite to eat i am going to drive us down so Kenny can have a beer or two, but all in all it has been a good day nice just to chill and have walks in the forest some big trees here as well.
