59 to 60 part11

Hello and welcome to part 11 of my blog and today the mist is very low so i am off to the tip with some garden rubbish aye once again rocknroll life style, was hoping to get in a walk but hopefully some point today i shall. Sunday evening was quiet couple of glasses of fizz and bit of tv. Did enjoy the chill felt i needed it. So onto today and see what it brings.
So today we needed to go to Ninewells as Helens hand had been giving her bit of pain all night and was bit more swollen so after being at tip i got back home and off we popped all ok but she has been given more tablets and some cream to see if this will help. I decided to go for another walk while waiting around the arboretum which i do often as it is a nice walk note long and as you’ve probably see in earlier blogs i was there in the winter as well, it is right next to the place i work as well so sometimes if it is a nice day i shall go and walk there during my break.

It is nice if your needing some air and i suppose if your a patient or visitor and you need to be alone or just need some time out then this is very good and it is all done by volunteers so well done to them for all the time and effort put in. After walk it was back to car and check of the tyres as i am needing to front ones so now i am 350 quid down, but they are all season tyres so hope they make a bit of difference in the winter.

So never had to wait to long so we decided to go to Clark’s bakery and get cakes and tea oh and a wee round steak and kidney peh and a steak and black pudding one both for my tea ha ha fekin lovely here is me to thinking of having a salad and thought na bugger that 😂 . So now i am sitting in the garden doing my blog and enjoying the sun but still bit cold in the shade. Well tomorrow starts my charity event for maggies centre which i have now raised £200 for which is great as i have not put anything in of my own money at the moment but as i near the end of the month i shall. So we shall see what the rest of the week brings and here is hoping weather wise it is good.

                                                                             01/06/21
Well hello June and what a grand day it has been, started my charity run and first 31miles in thought i would get the 30 to start then hopefully another small 20 tomorrow as on Thursday i hope to at least reach 40miles. So it was up and after a nice break fast it was on with the new maggies top and time to start.
Today as most days will be it was a route that’s i have done before it took me from the Ferry to Drumsturdy rd and onto Carlungie from there it was wee climb up to Monikie then headed straight for Inverarity which would give me my first big climb of this charity event up the back of Carrot Hill which for the effort you are rewarded with some fantastic views.

Fromm the carrot i headed back towards the fisheries and back onto Drumsturdy rd and back to ferry and home. I know i cycle these roads but doing this for charity and have a challenge always makes it a bit more exciting I suppose i mean i love my cycling i love the country so it is something that should not be an issue it is miles that i normally would put in but knowing your doing it to help someone and of course having someone who is still going through this well it makes it more worthwhile oh and there is a medal at the end 😂.

So now back home after going to couple of farm shops for fresh raspberries and strawberries mmm aye half a punnet eating before i got back to the car bloody lovely, then went up to cornkist for coffee and a big bloody scone so all in all a good day. I know sit with a tin of beer in the sun doing my blog and thinking mmmm you know life is good.

                                                                      02/06/21
Well another day on the the bike and the garden again which i am really enjoying, was up early again and started as always with a nice breakfast of toasted bagel with cream cheese and ham, today was a 20mile bike ride miles up towards charity so now at 51miles, just had a circuit today and was bit of a wind but all in all not a bad wee run on the bike 🚴

Now i am off for a wee lie down in the sun i have put up my pop up tent so am going to stick on some music and completely relax mmm i hope, just ate a big chunk of rhubarb pie and strawberry covered with Greek yogurt and a bloody massive cup of tea well two cups so it will probably spend the rest of the afternoon going to the bog 🚻.

                                                                          03/06/21
Well today started much the same except for dropping car of to get new tyres fitted to the front and while this was done i had a 37mile cycle 🚲 and yes again miles put in for maggies and i am now at 88miles of my 250 goal, it was not a bad day bit windy but went out by Invergowrie so once away from the water it was not as strong and while the sun was out it was warm as well. I did the Dundee Thistle apr route which takes you by past Invergowrie heading to Errol turn right then head to Rait turning left as you see the sign and basically you come back on yourself.

Normally i do this as fast as i can without stopping but by the second part i had to slow down and stop a couple of times to bend my arm as it started to get painful again ( roll on the 24th to get this jab) but as i was on my own it was fine and felt at. Times i was getting up to a not bad speed and trying to keep it the same all the way around. I have not been out with any of club members or anyone for over a year now mainly as i am not the fastest and with having to slow down or stop due to arm then i would feel i was holding everyone up which would not be fair on them, i have missed it though why? Well because being with others it does definitely help your cycling and you don’t look at the miles so much.

So car was ready when i got back and good that the tracking did not need done. Headed home then was quick shower and a wee trip to the ferry for some coffee cake and visit some charity shops and new shop that sell lots of chutneys amongst other things, also to the book house to purchase another book, i like to try and buy of the smaller shops as i would like to see them survive  but i also like going into book shops and browsing and even sometime sitting and having a wee read before i buy, do like the feel of new books. So back home again and not great out so sitting in house just doing this blog and listening to some tunes.

                                                                          04/06/21
So another good day sun was out but still bit windy, i never did much in the morning just got stuff ready for going away for the wknd. Helen had dentist appointment at 11-50 so took her to that then we went to Gallagher retail park where i got my self couple pair of new trousers oh an a wee jug to put into my man shed beside my wee whisky decanter 😂 well you’ve got to think ahead. Helen managed to get few things as well including a nice new bag and top oh and yes more books.
So when we got back home made a cuppa before i headed out on bike to put in 12miles to take me over the 100 mark of 250 and pleased with myself as got wee 14miles so i think i deserve this wknd break in Pitlochry where i shall eat drink and drink 🍺 more. Was good wee cycle 🚲 and although wind was bit strong i felt strong especially this being the fourth day out.

As you will notice i am in the country quite a lot on my bike but where else would i rather be mmm if i had the money i would love to live in the country not to far from my hometown but i love being out there the views and the silence is just to me great. So now back car is packed and all ready for tomorrow so my next blog shall be done in Pitlochry.
                               05/06/21
Well was bit of a journey up due to road works which are necessary on this road as there has been a lot of accidents on this stretch of road, still it was not to bad and we managed to get here for 1 o'clock so we went down to fisheries car park and had cup of tea and sandwich and sun was out and it was braw.

We headed to the B&B the claymore and shown to the coach House man what a braw room really we both love the claymore stayed here few times and never been disappointed. We have a queen size bed and one of the biggest walk in showers I have seen bloody lovely and I highly recommend this place you shall not be disappointed.

If marks are to be given then I give this place 10/10 it's one of these rooms where you don't want to go out you just want to sit in have a few beers and just enjoy your surroundings. Pitlochry is one of my favourite places and to know you have a place like the claymore makes it all the better. We headed out for while look at few shops and managed to get couple of nice Tshirts which I need like a hole in the head 😂 but I do like Tshirts. Helen was feeling bit weary so decided to head back to B&B for a rest before we go to our favourite restaurant here Fern Cottage man can't wait another great place to eat which will say more about later. I am now in the auld smiddy having my first cold lager in a long long time and it's bloody lovely.

So a great start to couple of days away and I feel can only get better tonight. I sit having another beer and thinking can I do this for a living ha 😂 well you never know I may start a blog about my country and it might take off mmmm maybe no though. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿
So am back now at the lovely b&b sun os shining through the windows and H is sleeping and i have opened a tin of beer, i wish i had bit mor patience as Helen ha s been through well hell really and sometimes I just forget well maybe not forget just don’t think straight sometimes especially when its wknds like this as she has to see the consultant on Monday which of course gets her as she says a bit angsty and of course is understandable Christ I’d be the bloody same but tonight is her night definitely Fern Cottage is her or one of her favourite places so all i want her to do is forget Monday and enjoy tonight and this wknd som here is hoping the cottage is the same a nice meal a nice fizz or wine be perfect me thinks.
                                                                   Helen how beautiful
06/06/21

Happy Sunday and a nice start to the day with a very nice breakfast and sun is shining as well, yesterday evening meal at Fern Cottage did not disappoint a lovely meal and a lovely surprise as Helen our niece had left a token for £35 for us towards our meal and it really was put towards a nice meal and a very nice night. I had soup as starter and Helen just had some nice bread and butter, followed by steak 🥩 which was fine topped with peppercorn sauce and onion rings and chips, Helen had Perthshire venison which looked great as well, sticky toffee pudding with ice cream was mmmm this was washed down with nice bottle of wine then coffee. Enjoyed that walk back up to the b&b where we tanked another bottle of wine 😂 oh dear mmm well were on a break but safe to say were having a wee chill before we go out for a walk/drive.

Well it was mainly a drive today but I did go for a wee walk later in the day which included a couple of beers. We drove to house of bruar with few stops on the way to take photos and some of one of my favourite mountains schallion a very easy mountain mmm well hard but easy to navigate up and I have been there quite a few times and just a nice day out.

So i know sit out in the evening in our coach house enjoying a whisky 🥃 looking across the garden at the sun beginning to set and all i can say is again Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 what a beautiful place and i feel so lucky to live int this country surrounded by beauty drinking  a wee dram.
.

Just back from a very nice meal of lasagna for me and meat baws for Helen we were unsure what to do and even thinking of just buying something and eating it in the room or coming outside to have it in the garden but no Helen who as always gets a bit nervous day before she goes to see her consultant and was a feeling bit weary went back to bed for while and when she woke was ready to go out again for a bite to eat and yes it is our last day and it was as i say very nice. So a great couple of days away and the drive was so good and gave me plenty of time to take some photos.

And to top it of Scotland won today as well ha ha kilts on taps aff. Well as another wknd finishes and as the week comes to and end then so does this part of my blog, and what better way to finish this one of by saying me and Helen have seen some wonderful parts of the world 🌎 and i hope we continue to do so but nothing beats my country I’m a happy guy and have been very lucky in life even though i don’t have lots of friends and i sit on my own a lot or cycle alone and walk alone I’m happy that Helen is and has always been there always. So again part 11 comes to an end in Pitlochry with a whisky in hand. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿
